Strong Quake Hits Iran-Pakistan Border

Again a  powerful 7.8-magnitude quake has rocked near the border with Pakistan,50 miles east of the Iranian city of Khash, according to the United States Geological Survey. After deadly quake to hit Iran in less than a week a magnitude 6.1 temblor struck near Bushehr Iran. In the history of 50 years it was the biggest earth quake in Iran. The earth Quake stuck about 6:45 am Eastern Daylight Time.



At least 40 people in Iran & 13 people in Pakistan killed & hundreds of people were wounded by Earthquake .There were approximately 60,000 people. The Quake destroyed hundreds of houses and shook buildings. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 51 miles , centered  Iranian city of Khash.

Iran has a history of devastating earthquakes. A magnitude7.5 in 1990 killed as many as 50,000. & 6.6 magnitude quake in 2003 killed an estimated 31,000 people.
